Size matters, but mostly to men
According to a new survey we learn what we probably already suspected: men are concerned with their women’s weight. And also what we, as women, would hope: they value family even more highly than we do. It almost balances out.
Nearly half the men polled in a survey of 70,000 people stated that they would unload a partner who gained weight. Women are more forgiving, only 20% of us said we’d ditch the dude who got fat.
Two-thirds of the guys also said they fantasized about their girl’s girlfriends. Only a third of the women would admit to having an imagination that might include her guy’s friends. Not sure about this one. Really, it’s just a fantasy so there’s no harm. I wonder why the women aren’t more imaginative. Maybe their guy’s friends aren’t fantasy material. Maybe because they are fat.
“Even as men are getting more comfortable with meeting their girlfriends online and less anxious about who she’s “friending” there, other romantic behaviors have proven to be timeless ones: chivalry isn’t dead, size matter, and women forgive while men forget,” said James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen, which sponsored the poll for Cosmopolitan.com.
Apparently women covet each other’s shoes while men covet the size of each other’s penis. 51% of men said they wished they were better endowed, while only 18% of the women said they shared the same concern, wanting their man to have more size.
But redeeming men forever is that 39% of them said family was the ultimate status symbol. For women, 43% said it was their house while another 25% said it was the success of their spouse.
